Charles McCracken, Supervisor
Bureau of Radiation Protection
Ohio Department of Health

Presentation Topic:
“Update
on Decommissioning Progress
at the Advanced Medical Systems (AMS) Site in Cleveland, OH”
Speaker Bio:
Charles (Chuck) McCracken has been with the
decommissioning program at the Ohio Department of Health, Bureau of Radiation
Protection for the past thirteen (13) years, with the last three as the program’s
Supervisor. Before that, he worked 11 years as a Health Physics Technician at
the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Plant. Chuck has a Bachelor of Science Degree in
Radiation Protection from Thomas Edison State College.
This is expected to be a very interesting
talk. Past AMS sewer disposal practices lead to significant levels of Co-60
contamination being detected in the 1990s at one of the waste treatment
facilities in the Cleveland area. Chuck’s talk will discuss the contamination
found at the AMS site and the sites’ subsequent decommissioning.

CRS By-laws and Rules of Operations
If a quorum attends, there will be a vote on the drafted revision
to the CRS By-Laws and new CRS Rules of Operations. Copies attached. (The CRS
has been attempting to complete this process for several years. The primary
reasons for the revisions are to bring the CRS into the 21st century (e.g.,
allow for computer voting) and so the rules meet the needs of a smaller CRS.
